Residents of Maple Ridge will be hit with higher property taxes as a consequence of the NDP’s new employer health tax.
While B.C. Finance Minister Carole James continues to tout MSP savings for municipalities, the MSP is actually being replaced with a new, higher tax that will cost the City of Maple Ridge an additional $700,000 annually.
In Question Period today, Surrey-Cloverdale MLA Marvin Hunt asked Minister of Municipal Affairs Selina Robinson whether she thought that was fair, but she refused to respond.
James got up instead and refused to acknowledge the fact Maple Ridge homeowners will be hit with this surprise increase to their property taxes—yet another NDP broken promise.
